Michigan Thunder College Pathway Program

Ever wanted to play at the collegiate level? Not sure what it takes to play at the college level or how to get there?

At Michigan Thunder we have created the College Pathway Program, headed up by our club Director of Coaching and former college player, Ashley Wormall, to help our players achieve their dream of playing at the collegiate level.

In our first year of the program, our 00 Boys representative team were able to test themselves playing official spring games vs two NAIA college teams, took part in a number of college showcase tournaments, individually attended college ID days, and sat down with our college advisor on what steps to take on their pathway.

Throughout the years, a number of former players have gone on to continue their soccer and education at the collegiate level. As a club, we want to assist our players who are looking to play at the next level once they have graduated from high school.

The program will consist of sending our high school teams to a number of college showcase tournaments to give our players exposure to those college coaches. We will also have an advisor who will assist the players throughout their college recruitment process. We will also work to create a portfolio for the players, which are constantly updated by the athlete with assistance from the advisor.  The portfolio can be passed onto college coaches during the recruitment process.
