TRYOUTS: Everyone is welcome to tryout for any one of the Michigan Thunder teams.  Michigan Thunder encourages everyone who loves the game of basketball to tryout. Hope to see everyone there!

 ELIGIBILITY: All Michigan Thunder players and coaches must join the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).  Michigan Thunder adopts the playing requirements of the AAU.  A registered player's age on JUNE 30, 2007 determines the youngest age group in which she may play.  This is a change from years past. It is intended to allow all players in a grade to play together. Michigan Thunder will allow a player to "play up" with an older age group. (See AAU Web site for details and more info about the new cut-off date.)

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT AND INSURANCE:  Each registered player will be responsible for her pro-rated share of participation expenses. These include, but are not limited to, Michigan Thunder membership fees, gym time, personal and team equipment, and tournament entry fees. Fund raising will be administered as a club, each player will be required to participate. Additional fund raising may be done by individual teams. AAU provides excess medical insurance for any member athlete participating in any AAU sanctioned practice or event. If the athlete has medical coverage, that coverage will be applied first, followed by the AAU insurance. If an athlete has no medical coverage, the AAU policy becomes  the primary insurance subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
