The Michigan Thunder AAU Basketball organization was started in 1997. The original Michigan Thunder Club had 12’s and 13’s teams.
Michigan Thunder operates under the firm belief that young persons benefit greatly by participating in a sports program that nurtures a commitment to God through the behavior of the players, coaches, and parents involved. The Michigan Thunder organization desires that persons thrive in the environment created by their participation in a competitive sports program that also stresses recognition of Godly character. Michigan Thunder players are encouraged by their coaches and others associated with the program to develop a spirit of love, care, tolerance, and support for others. Players also learn to respect authority, and appreciate diligence, and perseverance. OBJECTIVES: The Michigan Thunder AAU Organization stresses discipline, the team concept, and mental and physical preparation. We are committed to teaching our players to value ethics and integrity, and to helping them gain the confidence to make sound decisions when faced with conflicts in their futures. We also measure our success by whether our players have improved their level of performance and skill execution, enjoyed the experience, and increased their appreciation for the sport.
